How Robot and Drones Solve Problems in Severe Epidemic Situation of Viral Diseases?


World Health Organization (WHO) announced the global risk of coronavirus outbreak to "very high" – its top level of risk assessment. When facing the impact of viral disease, robots and drones are starting to “fight” in a real world.

Robot-Medical Robot

The first coronavirus patient was diagnosed and treated by a medical robot in the United States. The medical robot was originally developed for the Ebola virus, and the robot is fully equipped with cameras, stethoscopes, microphones, screens, other sensors and so on. The robot is used to examine patients remotely, totally ensures the safety of doctors or nurses against virus infection and prevents risking of secondary transmission of virus.

Some of the service robots are only marketing tools to attract customers. While controlling epidemic situation, the role of service robot is diverse now: delivery robot, advertising robot etc. The working areas where service robots can be deployed include delivering foods and meals, cleaning environment. Service robots can be operated remotely to carry out disinfection and cleaning process in the crowded areas where chances of getting infection are at peak. They can truly operate unattended and bring convenience to people in the enclosed space.

Robot-Patrol Robot

Patrol robots cooperate with the police also show their skills. These patrol robots can take turn to work 24 hours a day to prevent and control the epidemic situation in densely populated areas such as airports, railway stations and hospitals. Like drones, the patrol robot can realize voice propaganda, temperature measurement, face recognition and other tasks by carrying different equipment, which not only liberates human resources, but also ensure the people safety.
