Recently, Benewake (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter to be referred to as Benewake) signed an agreement with Beijing Jiaotong University to deepen cooperation in the application of technologies such as LiDAR, IoT, and AI in the field of rail transit operation and maintenance. Together, they will establish a rail transit LiDAR intelligent sensing laboratory and promote the integration of AI sensors with rail transit to enhance the development of interdisciplinary studies.

Professor Zhong Zhangdui of Beijing Jiaotong University stated that the new stage of development for rail transit is intelligent and wise, and sensor fusion with LiDAR as its core is an important component of intelligent rail transit, providing a data foundation for high-quality environmental perception.

Benewake is one of the earliest companies in China to independently research and develop and produce LiDAR, and has rich experience in intelligent transportation fields such as smart rail transit. Li Yuan, CEO of Benewake, stated that the company will provide support for Beijing Jiaotong University in relevant disciplines and talent cultivation, and promote the intelligentization process of the rail transit industry through innovative applications of high-performance 3D laser radar.

On the same day, both parties also released the "White Paper on the Application of Radar in the Rail Transit Industry", which is the first white paper in the industry to focus on the comprehensive application of radar technology in the context of rail transit. Under the new situation of innovation-driven development, it looks forward to the development trend of intelligent rail transit empowering new technology cities and promotes the continuous improvement of intelligence level in the rail transit industry.
