New Product Releases | TF-NOVA is a slotted line spot lidar, with a lightweight design to achieve "slotted" area detection

TF-NOVA is a linear spot pure solid-state lidar, which innovatively uses a linear spot infrared laser light source to replace the traditional point light source, and combines a high-performance single-photon avalanche receiving chip. This allows the TF-NOVA LiDAR to have a wide-angle detection area of 14° and an indoor measuring range of more than 7 meters. By optimizing the optical design of the transceiver and the anti-ambient light algorithm, TF-NOVA can stably measure black, bright and small targets in strong outdoor light.

TF-NOVA is an innovative product of Benewake TF ranging sensor series, which is different from single-point lidar, it has a field of view of 14° and 1°, similar to a linear spot, and compared with traditional laser scanners, it has obvious advantages in size, weight, power consumption and cost performance, especially suitable for applications with a certain detection field of view range requirements.

2. Can it be stably detected outdoors in bright light?

TF-NOVA uses a new generation of perception chips, and its theoretical sensitivity is 10,000 times that of the previous one, which significantly improves the detection ability of black high-bright reflective targets. For example, black high-gloss vehicles can also obtain a detection capability of at least 3m outdoors, which eliminates false detections and missed detections to the greatest extent.


3. Do I need extra protection?

The TF-NOVA front window mirror is made of infrared light high transmission material, and the front panel is designed and assembled according to the IP67 protection level, so customers can achieve effective waterproof and dustproof functions with simple integration.


4. What is the application scenario and price?

TF-NOVA is more widely used in scenarios such as automotive intelligent door collision avoidance, shuttle/robot obstacle avoidance, assisted focusing, and parking space detection.
